Hey All!! i have not been able to e-mail everyone lately as work has been crazy and to top it off my sister ended up in the hospital with pre-term labor so any hours I am not working I have been with her. I leave tomorrow for Toronto and I am having mixed feelings. I so want to go and know I will have a blast but I am worried about leaving my sister. I am confident things will be ok but she is worried and board to be stuck on bed rest. looks like she will be on bed rest for the rest of her pregnancy. Her doctor said that she has to go another 6 weeks before they would let her deliver here in Juneau otherwise she would get shipped to more advanced treatment center that specializes in premature babies. I'm so stressed at the moment. I have not done laundry and I still need to pick up my red dress from the alterations lady. Oh boy. Ok I have to run my break is over. Please think happy thoughts for my sister!!

One week to go till I am in Toronto. I am getting very excited!!! I have been taking care of a very sick 16 month old baby that has RSV/Bronchiolitis (basically a bad respiratory infection)the past couple of days and I really hope that I dont catch it. It is usually virus for children under 2 years old but adults can catch it and it give you flu like symptoms. Tha is the last thing I need to catch right before I travel. I dont want all the other passengers to think I am Typhoid Mary. So looks like Laura W. is now comming as well. Only wish Kim and Jenn could be there as well then it would be like a mini reunion as I met all these great folk's at AT1. All becuase of Amanda!!

On another note my sister is having contractions again way too soon so she is off to the doctors to see what they want to do. She had been on medication to help keep her from having contractions but they took her off of it as she had been contraction free for a couple of weeks. Hope they just restart the medication, she rests and that does the trick. Ok I better get a move on as my work break is ending. I am off tomorrow and tonight we are going to order pizza and take it to the new house and celebrate!!

OK I cant get to my e-mail at work but I can sneak here for a brief moment to say My sister and brother-in law have a house they signed the closing papers today and they will get the keys in the morning. They can start moving in this weekend. I am not sure how I feel about that as I have gotten use to them living with me these last few months. I have loved having my 4yr old niece around.

So I have a question for all. They have asked me to move in with them. Basically renting a room from them. Right now the condo I live in belongs to my mother and I have been paying rent but she really wants to sell it. She would love to sell it to me but it needs quite a bit of work that I just can't afford on top of a mortgage. If I moved in with my sister and family I might be able to pay off some bills and then start saving for a house/condo of my own. The down side? Well they are having another baby so there would be two kids them and me in a 3 bedroom house. lol We have all gotten along great these past few months living together in a two bedroom condo so I know we can do it. Ok enough for now have to get back to work.

Well it is the 5th and I leave on the 8th for London so only 3 days to go. Yippie I am getting so excited now!! Cant wait to see everyone. Just hope I can pack everything I want to. LOL I also have caught a nice little cold that I hope I can get rid of before I have to fly! Anyone know of any takers? LOLOL Ok off to get more water and vit.C.

So after having such a crummy day yesterday I spent the evening doing some thinking and before I drifted off to sleep last night I couldn't help thinking I miss the old unit I use to work on. Well early this morning I get a call from the hospital nursing supervisor to inform me she is having to float me to my old unit today as she was unable to find any other staff to cover the floor. I though OMG is this an omen. lol So I worked on the Mental Health Unit. It was so busy. I even ended up starting and IV and a catheter on a patient something that is rarely done on that unit. Most of the time when patients have medical issues they are placed out on the medical floor. I rather enjoyed myself. Not sure if it was just that I got a break for a day from the Critical Care unit or if I really do miss it that much. My old boss even told me she still had an open nursing position on the unit. Oh Boy that would be a can of worms. lol
Ok tomorrow I will try and work on Amanda's quilt. I have been having some issues with the photo to material transfers. Not really sure what to do about it yet but I am going back to the printers tomorrow. Now I am off to find some SG-1 fic to read and make an end to a much better day.

I haven't posted in ages but felt like I need to write so here I am. I had a rather crappy day today! I went to work and my patient ended up needing to be intubated and placed on a ventilator and then we ended up flying them out to a larger medical center. The bad part about that is I felt so out of my element. I was glad I was still working with someone. problem is work expects me to be on my own and flying solo by November and I still feel so lost.
Next 1/2 way through the day my boss finds me wondering why I was not in the class I was to take this morning. I totally spaced it as it was not on the schedule. To be honest I did know I had the class I just forgot and then the fates were against me when the supervisor for the day didn't write it down on the daily schedule so I went about working with patients. I really needed this class too as I am taking an Advance Cardiac Life Support class next week and this would have really helped. Oh well nothing I can do about it now. My boss was quite upset with me though.
Ok next let me see....My sister called me at work and she dropped Great News She is Pregnant! I am very happy for her!!! Only problem here now is that I get what can only be described as "The Jealousies" (Just a little quote from Little House on the Prairie where Laura is Jealous of Mary) I am 36 Single and think I shall remain that way. I will be the Old Cat lady minus the Cats! LOL I am not sure what I really expected my life to be like at this point but I don't think this was it. LOL
Sorry to be rambling just needed to Vent. Ok on a lighter note and the best parts of the day I finally got confirmation of my time off to AT2 and Avalon. Better yet when I got home all in a funk I got an e-mail from someone sending me Teryls Rick Tippee music video. That actually mad me fell better for a bit. I guess I just need to go to bed as I know tomorrow is a new day and everything always looks better in the morning right? LOL

1. Ever since I was 10 years old I have loved planning vacations. My dad worked as a marine operator and he brought me home a book of toll free numbers. Every airline and cruise line number you can imagine was listed. I would plan how much it would cost to take my friends and family to exotic places for fun. Even as an adult I am constantly looking at great places to travel and figuring out how much it will take to get me there.

2. I was an X-files junkie. I recorded every episode of the show. I recorded every T.V. appearance Gillian Anderson and David Duchovney did. I have the David Duchovney music video. I had the game both card and computer. I have all the episode books from each season. I would turn down going out with friends for the show. After the show ended I took up with Stargate. LOL. I even saw X-Files the movie 6 times in the movie theatre. (Can't believe I admitted that)

3. I flew for the weekend to see Amanda Tapping in London. I could not get away longer as I was in school. I had to schedule to take an exam a day early to go and I had an exam the day after I returned. I have a habit of doing those sort of things. I was in a theatrical production of "One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest" and Eve Ensler was debuting her Vagina Monologues in Los Angles. Gillian Anderson was in it so I had to go. I got tickets to the show and the after party. I went for 24 hours that is all I could get away from rehearsals.

4. I gave up chocolate 5 years ago. I am a chocoholic. I would eat a whole bag of Hershey's Kisses in a 12 hour shift everyday that I worked. If there where no kisses it was M&M's I would eat them in order of color from the brown to the red to the orange to the green and last but not least the Yellow as that is my favorite color.

5. I read Sg-1 fanfiction like crazy. I can't get enough. I go to fanfiction.net daily. I read all types Gen, Ship, Het,Slash. I can't get enough. LOLOL

6. When I was young (9 or 10) the girl in the apartment above me and I loved the show "Dallas" we liked it so much that we would act it out. She was always Pam and I was always Sue Ellen. We would dress up and everything. Any of our other friends that would come over were always made to be Lucy as we couldn't stand her. LOLOL
